Self-Awareness & Assertiveness

I decided to scrap the patience word study and do some self-awareness & assertiveness work instead. It came to my attention that many over reactions can be kept in check by firmly being self-aware of one's own feelings. Too often we as individuals can let our emotions get the best of us, to fly off the handle and regret it. Those repressed emotions come out of "stuffing" all the negative emotions down until they erupt. The trick is catching the irritation before the "bite" gets bigger from scratching. Analogies aside, I'm doing a case study to see how I can improve my self-control by tracking when I feel an emotion strongly and to remember it.

In the long run, I hope that being self-aware will help me experience emotions better in a positive light rather than repress bad emotions and ultimately help me living stress-free.

In areas of assertiveness as a result, I've learned I could improve repressed behavior by admitting to myself that I'm feeling an emotional strongly and that I need to act on it to relieve any anxiety from overwhelming me.

I am happy with the challenge of embracing these strong emotions and being ok with it. I hope that learning more about myself that I will appreciate and enjoy others. To sort of get out of the "box" and live life better and embrace it.

I feel encouraged and challenged for the task! :)
